Altaflex was founded in 2000 to address the growing need for production-quality flex circuits at the prototype stage to validate designs and concepts. Our goal was to incorporate capabilities and design practices of leading global production fabricators to help customers develop a transferable production design as opposed to a secular solution. This approach has enabled customers to introduce products to market much faster than before. Customers requiring prototypes or low/medium volume production quantities gain the insight and benefits of global fabrication expertise.

As markets evolved, Altaflex embraced the changes by providing customers with leading-edge capabilities, materials, and new interconnect solutions. Multiple UV Yag lasers and laser direct imaging systems were installed to support growth and facilitate our goal of continuous improvement.

In early 2010, Altaflex began developing captive processes to fabricate projective capacitance touch panels. In the summer of 2011, Altaflex began shipping touch panel sub-assemblies on a quick-turn basis. This empowered customers to quickly verify touch designs, IC designs, and evaluate new materials in a matter of days versus weeks.

In 2016 Altaflex joined the OSI Electronics family. OSI Electronics companies excel at solving complex design, development, manufacturing, and assembly projects for electronics. OSIE is synonymous with delivering unmatched quality electronics across multiple industries.

In early 2019, Altaflex began offering in-house assembly services to provide customers with a one-stop source to provide completely assembled products. This simplifies customer sourcing logistics and provides additional protection of customer IP by keeping all project and design information under one roof.
